Roc de Montpezat
The Domaine de Gaychon, a Bordeaux vineyard, is located in the commune of Flaujagues, a small village on the banks of the Dordogne, in Gironde, near Castillon-La-Bataille.
Guillaume and Sébastien acquired this property of thirteen hectares of vineyards in 2017. They quickly restructured the property and decided to convert the estate to organic farming; the BIO certification has since been obtained in 2021. This estate is located on clay-limestone soils on the hillsides and on gravelly soils on the plains. It has several grape varieties: sauvignon blanc and gris, merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and malbec.
This vineyard of Bordeaux has also undergone great transformations. The warehouses have been enlarged in order to receive and store all the agricultural equipment; the cellar has been completely renovated to allow us to work in a more modern way. Finally, administrative offices have been created.
“Empreinte dorée” is a white wine composed of a sauvignon blanc and gris grape variety with 50% barrel aging. It is a surprising and ambitious wine.
“Empreinte rosée” is a rosé wine composed of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. It is a bold wine. The selected plots are only intended and worked for this rosé wine.
The “M” vintage is a red wine with a malbec dominance. It is a supple, fruit-driven, easy-drinking wine, composed of a clever blend of red fruits with a floral nuance.
The cuvée “Sans nom” is a red wine of assembly composed of 80% of merlot and 20% of cabernet sauvignon. This wine is structured and slightly woody with notes of black fruits.
All these wines are available for direct sale at the Château Roc de Montpezat store or for delivery.
