The vineyard has several sandy clay-limestone soils and benefits from several gravelly clay-limestone soils on the slopes of the Côtes de Castillon with different exposures. All the land is in conversion to organic farming (certified in 2024).
The owners have chosen to use “parcel-based vinification”, that is to say, to use vats with small containers. This technique requires them to be rigorous in the selection of the parcels to be vinified together and allows them to be very precise in the classification of the wines by profiles. During the harvest period, the grapes are selected by Guillaume, Sébastien and Simon Blanchard, oenologist at Derenoncourt Consultants. The vinification is carried out according to traditional methods.
Two wines with different typicities, in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, are for sale:
The vintage “En attendant” was born after the 2021 harvest. This wine, in organic farming, is 100% merlot, it is supple and is essentially access on the fruit. It is a clever mixture of red fruits and a beautiful freshness.
The “Cuvée des 9”, from the 2021 harvest, is an organic wine, 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a wine matured in oak barrels from different coopers which brings a multitude of complexities. It is a structured wine but still very greedy.
Other vintages, in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, will soon complete this range.
Grand vin de Bordeaux in organic farming, appellation Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, has a gîte, a reception room and a direct sales store.
